Remembering Our Roots

Hello, Doritos!

When the legendary Doritos of Club Penguin (DCP) was founded in 2010, the army was founded to become a voice for a portion of the army community that wanted to make a change and fight for morals and values. The army community stood up against well-known world powers like ACP, Nachos, and IW to create an army that would be enjoyed by thousands of community members for years to come. The Doritos Empire has conquered numerous armies and ultimately time itself. DCP still remains strong and among the most legendary armies in Club Penguin Army (CPA) history.

Throughout CPA history, hundreds of armies have been created and shut down–often within the same year, and even the same month. During the golden age of armies, the CPA community was very saturated. Out of dozens of active armies, you had to give someone a reason to join and stay. It was a very different time compared to the Club Penguin Private Server (CPPS) army age. Though both ages have similarities, recruiting was challenging at times and it was difficult to work around school schedules since most community members were in grade school. Still, even with challenges at every corner, DCP won the rights to the “DCP” abbreviation against the Defense of Club Penguin and immediately challenged ACP, the #1 world-power at the time. It was rare to hear of an army challenging ACP and winning. From that moment on, DCP became a well-known, major army within the community.

DCP’s growth wasn’t without trials and tribulations, though. In the original CPA community, scare tactics were often used by individuals within armies to force unconditional surrenders. Tactics like doxxing, DDoSing, key logging, and website defacements were considered a normal part of the CPA community. Still, DCP managed to become a world-power and cement ourselves in the CPA community for the rest of history. DCP is even listed as one of the top ten armies of all time. Out of hundreds of armies throughout CPA history, managing to make the top ten was an achievement and rare, but it’s especially rare to be listed as a top ten army of all time. If we assume 1,000 armies were created throughout CPA history, that means only 1% of armies achieved the “top ten army of all time” status.

At the surface level, DCP was able to achieve this prestigious status through our many victories versus rivals, unmatched tactics, and record-breaking attendance at events. But let me make one thing clear: we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without you, our troops. At DCP, we aren’t just an army, we are a family. When you join DCP, you aren’t just joining an army, you’re joining a legacy and subsequently cementing yourself in not just DCP’s history, but also CPA history. Countless armies come and go—when things get hard, they give up. When things get hard at DCP, we work even harder. Everyone, especially our enemies, remember our name.

When you make the choice to join another army, remember that you aren’t leaving “just another army”, you’re leaving behind a chance at cementing yourself in DCP history and CPA history. We don’t just create well-rounded troops, we create legends. We foster an environment that promotes dedication, loyalty, growth, and family. At DCP, we see you. We see each and every troop that dedicates themselves and makes an effort.

When you join another army, it’s easy to get lost as an enlisted member unless you’re part of an elite social group within the army. When you join another army, you’re also losing the chance at becoming a part of something bigger and better. You’re losing the chance at making your mark in one of the greatest armies of all time. You’re losing the chance to become a DCP legend. Other armies will feed you lies like “my army cares about you” and “it’s much more energetic here” only to isolate you, alienate you, and treat you as a number once you join. All for that same army to merge into another army or close altogether in a matter of weeks.

No one can predict the future, but one thing is certain: DCP will always be one of the greatest armies of all time. Becoming a DCP legend has weight and holds meaning. Legend status is highly sought after, and becoming a DCP legend inherently means that others will look up to you.

I’ve learned that in order to keep troops engaged they need a reason/cause and they also need to be assured that their efforts will not go to waste. Life is too short for wasted efforts. At DCP, we invite you to make your mark here, where your efforts will have lasting impacts in both DCP and in the greater CPA community. Armies may come and go, they will rise and fall, but the great DCP empire will always remain. We have always had the recipes for success and we always will. Armies try to replicate us, but they will never be able to. They try to create a legacy out of a story that has no meaning and then give up.

DCP will always remain. The CPA community will always remember our great empire. Your efforts will never be wasted. Your mark in history will always be remembered. We will always be family.
